While working-class families struggle with the inflationary rot of the last three years, a $170 billion windfall is being quietly hoarded by the corporate elite. A massive pool of federal refunds, generated by the invalidation of previous executive tariffs, is currently frozen in a legal deadlock. Retail giants are fighting tooth and nail in court to prevent these funds from being passed back to the consumers who actually paid the higher prices at the checkout counter. This is state-sanctioned theft on a planetary scale. The 'Illinois Brick' doctrine and other legal obscurities are being weaponized to ensure that the windfall stays in the hands of importers and retailers, rather than the public. It is a perfect illustration of the Spectacle of Impunity: the government collects a tax, the people pay it, the courts strike it down, and the corporations keep the change. We demand an immediate pass-through of these funds. Anything less is a direct transfer of wealth from the kitchen tables of the many to the boardrooms of the few.
