They tell us we are at war with Iran, yet they are using your tax dollars to buy their oil. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced a 30-day sanctions waiver on Friday, allowing 140 million barrels of Iranian crude to hit the market. They call this 'Operation Epic Fury,' a name designed for a movie trailer, but the reality is a greasy shell game. Brent crude is hitting $120 a barrel, and the administration is so desperate for lower gas prices that they are willing to bankroll the very mullahs they claim to be destroying. Analysts from The New York Times and Reuters suggest this move is a drop in the bucket (https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/23/podcasts/the-headlines/runway-collision-laguardia-airport-and-trumps-ultimatum-iran.html). Most of that oil is already spoken for, meaning the pain at the pump for the American worker won't stop. It just gives the Revolutionary Guard a fresh infusion of cash to fuel more drone strikes. Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin is openly taunting the embargo by sending tankers to Cuba, proving the 'America First' policy is full of holes. The structural decay of the dollar is accelerating as Deutsche Bank warns that this conflict is the perfect catalyst for the 'Petroyuan.' While our leaders play-act as tough guys, they are handing the keys to the global energy system to our rivals. It is a perfect circle of blood and profit where the working class pays the bill and the war machine gets a refill. Don't be fooled by the rhetoric of 'Epic Fury' when the Treasury is essentially writing a check to our enemies to save a few cents in the suburbs.
