Violent Crime Proves Need for Stronger Border Laws #
The brutal murder of DHS employee Lauren Bullis this week is a tragedy that underscores a deeper crisis in our national covenant. The suspect, a naturalized citizen who was granted the privilege of American membership under the previous administration, represents a failure of the vetting systems designed to protect our public servants. Secretary Markwayne Mullin has rightly pointed to this horror as evidence that citizenship must be a reward for moral character, not a clerical formality.
At the same time, ICE has launched a necessary crackdown on 'birth tourism' schemes that exploit our laws to manufacture citizenship for profit. A nation that does not respect its own borders or the integrity of its legal processes cannot long endure as a home for its people. We must return to a system where the laws are clear, the enforcement is firm, and the commitment to the safety of our citizens is absolute. The safety of the American hearth depends on the strength of the American wall.
