If a municipality refuses to honor the border once a traveler steps outside the terminal, it has no moral right to facilitate their entry at the gate.

However, we must also view the administration's new $15,000 visa bond policy with a healthy dose of traditionalist skepticism. While the need for border security is absolute, the financialization of citizenship is a dangerous precedent. Our nation is a community of shared values and laws, not a private club with a cover charge. By requiring a $15,000 'Premium Citizenship' bond from travelers of fifty nations, we risk transforming the American dream into a luxury good for the global elite. A nationhood that can be purchased is a nationhood that has lost its soul. We want a border that is closed to the lawbreaker, but it must remain a border defined by character and the rule of law, not the depth of one's wallet.

True sovereignty requires both firm edges and a clear conscience. We support the effort to bring rebellious cities back into the fold of the Republic, but we must be careful not to build a system of 'Logistical Sovereignty' that prioritizes the wealthy traveler over the honest immigrant. The border is the moat that protects the treasures of our civilization; it should be guarded by men of honor, not by toll booths and bond markets.
