By automating 'digital triage,' hospitals can justify further staff cuts and prioritize billing over actual care. The AI 'translates' complex lab results into plain English, but it also creates a layer of algorithmic insulation that prevents patients from reaching a human professional who can be held accountable for a misdiagnosis.
